Phototherapy (IPL)

Phototherapy or Intense Pulse LIght treatments (referred to as IPL) are a form of laser therapy that use scattered light to seek out unwanted chromophores in the skin such as hair, pigmentation, redness and telangiectasia. A handheld device flashes intense pulses of light into the skin, photonic particles are attracted to the darkest pigment they can quickest absorb into. These flashes of light feel similar to a rubber band snapping on the skin. Green light is used to treat vascular disorders such as redness, rosacea, angiomas and telangiectasia. Yellow light fades brown spots similar to when items of color are left in the sun. An ultrasound gel is applied to the treated area prior, this helps light better penetrate into the skin. Eyewear is worn to protect the eyes from the intense pulses of light. Treatments only take a few minutes per area

Phototherapy is a form of laser skin rejuvenation that uses scattered light to safely detect & address unwanted chromophores in the skin whereas resurfacing lasers use collimated beams to ablate underlying tissues. Ablating the tissue compromises the skins barrier and potentially poses permanent scarring so Phototherapy is by far the safest option for treating pigmentation and erythema

Phototherapy can't be performed on dry skin; If your skin is showing signs of dehydration schedule a facial and seek guidance on proper homecare prior to Phototherapy. Expect redness, swelling & scaling for 3 to 7 days post procedure

30 minutes | $350
